Center for the Mathematics of Biosystems
What We Do
We are an interdisciplinary team that focuses on development, analysis, implementation, and validation of mathematical models describing biological systems. We strive to perfect the science of biological data and provide quantitative understanding of biological systems through cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, training, and community involvement.
Upcoming Events
January 13-14, 2025 | Spring Workshop
Workshop info: The workshop is a chance for us to play with some math/bio ideas and data, and to get to know more about each other’s research. Some of us will propose projects (e.g., ideas we haven’t had a chance or tools to pursue, datasets we haven’t been able to make sense of) and present the idea to others. We will then split into working groups and work on our projects for 1.5 days, and finish up by presenting our findings to each other. This will be directly followed by the CMB winter holiday party, where students are also invited to present research posters.
Where: Hahn Horticulture Garden Pavilion on the VT campus
Who can participate: CMB members, graduate students, postdocs, and any other interested university members can be a part of the working groups. We also need some participants to propose problems for the working groups.
